Badminton – Doubles (All-Gender Tournament)

The Brussels Games Badminton tournament is doubles only, featuring an inclusive all-gender category. 

All levels are welcome! You’ll spend the day competing and enjoying exciting matches in your chosen discipline. 

  • Capacity: Up to 200 participants 
  • Facilities: 21 courts dedicated to doubles 
  • Spots are limited — register early to secure your place! 

Registrations

  • Registration is individual, based on your level. 
  • Only the all-gender category will be held this year. 

Initial categories: A, B, C
After the round-robin phase, players will be placed into refined levels: A, B+, B-, C+, C- 

Partner registration: 

  • Please register with your doubles partner. 
  • No partner yet? No problem! Tick the box: “I’d like a Blind Date”, and we’ll help match you.

Important notes: 

  • Medal winners from the last two editions must register in a higher category. 
  • In doubles, the highest-ranked partner’s level determines the team category. 
  • The organizers reserve the right to adjust player levels if necessary. 

Check-in

You must check in at one of the following times: 

  • Friday evening during the Welcome Event, OR 
  • Saturday morning before 8:30 AM 

Participants not checked in before 8:30 AM risk exclusion from the tournament. 


Doubles Tournament Schedule – Saturday, August 29

Morning – Round Robin Phase 

  • 08:00 – 08:25 | Participant arrival 
  • 08:30 | Welcome speech 
  • 08:45 – 08:55 | Collective warm-up 
  • 09:00 | Round Robin matches begin
    • Groups of 5 teams
    • Matches played in 1 set to 21 points
    • Minimum 2-point lead required
    • Maximum cap at 25 points
    • Played initially in A, B, C groups to determine final levels
    • All matches use feather shuttlecocks 

  • 12:15 | Lunch break 

Afternoon – Knockout Phase 

  • 13:00 | Knockout rounds begin
    • Teams split into A, B+, B-, C+, C- divisions
    • Some teams may qualify directly for quarter-finals depending on results
    • Matches played best of 3 sets
    • Sets played to 21 points, win by 2
    • Maximum cap at 30 points 

Final Stages 

  • 16:00 | Quarter-finals 
  • 18:00 | Semi-finals 
  • 19:00 | Bronze medal match 
  • 19:00 | Final 
  • 19:30 | Medal ceremony 

Medal ceremony will take place after the finals, around 7:30 PM 

Important: Players must be present when their match is called. Failure to appear on time will result in a forfeit, and the opposing team will be declared the winner.
